Multiple Teams · A Note from the Athletic Department – 10/7/19 – HOMECOMING EDITION

Husky Nation,

What a week for our Huskies as we celebrated Senior Night for Girls Tennis/Softball and HOMECOMING 2019!!

Girls Tennis closed out their week with a WIN against SAMSB to finish the regular season (13-1).  The team got the #2 seed in Districts and will compete in Team competition Tuesday and Wednesday before Individual Singles/Doubles on Thursday and Friday.  The Huskies will host the winner of McCluer North/Hazelwood East at Home Tuesday, all other matches will be at Hazelwood West.

Softball got to play under the lights for their Senior Night at ABC vs. Parkway North.  The team will end their regular season this week with three road games.  Thursday at Ladue (West Campus) will be their final game before starting District Play at Parkway Central.

HOMECOMING 2019 was incredible!  Tavonda Palmer and the Leadership Group spent countless hours planning and prepping for spirit week, powderpuff, pep rally, parade and the dance.  Planning for next year has already begun as the group starting debriefing today to identify what went well and what can be improved.  The date for next year has yet to be set but will probably be week 4 vs. Parkway South or week 6 game vs. Eureka.

The student body really came together and showed their school spirit all week especially at the Pep Rally and then Saturday morning at the Parade.  Homecoming is always a special time of year as it brings the community together and is and experience of firsts for our Freshman and lasts for our Seniors.

Football fell to a really talented Kirkwood team but never stopped fighting and played hard until the final whistle.

The fall regular season is coming to an end for Boys Swimming as they celebrate their SENIORS on Friday vs. Fort Zumwalt East, 4:15pm.  For the complete guide to Senior Night, click here.

Students in Academic Support will attend study sessions after school from 3-4pm before going to practice. Students in this session will attend thru the week of 10/28/19.
