Ritenour High School is proud to announce the signing of Alyssa Lane to Swim at Maryville University.
This is a special moment as we get to witness Alyssa’s future in the making.
By earning the right to participate in collegiate athletics, she will get to continue on, and accomplishing what only most can dream of.
It is a honor to achieve such a chance, and it was earned through a culmination of hard work in and out of the classroom!
Below is how Alyssa came to her decision:
I played many different sports when I was growing up.
I started off in gymnastics and moved on to cheer.
Once I started high school I realized I needed to do something different.
I was then introduced to coach Rivera. She told me to come to practice and see what it’s like. After the first couple practices I realized I actually really enjoyed swimming. I didn’t take it serious at first. I just swam because it was fun, but then coach told me she thought I could swim in college. Hearing her say that made me want to work hard everyday at practice.
Swimming has helped me in many different ways.
For example it’s helped me realize “you have to work hard to achieve your goals”.
If I didn’t join a club team and push myself as hard as possible I wouldn’t have made it to my dream school at Maryville.
I am super thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to achieve more goals.
This signing is a testament to the commitment of our school, students and community here at Ritenour.
On behalf of the Athletic Department we would like to congratulate Alyssa on her accomplishments and future success!
