The JV Huskies finished off the season with a great 3-2 victory over the Clayton Greyhounds. The boys found themselves short handed with only 2 subs, people playing out of position at almost every spot and 3 C-Team guest players to help out. Ricardo Pina showed some true courage and stepped up to play goalie for the team. The Huskies found themselves down 1-0 after the first half when the Greyhounds scored with 24 seconds left. Knowing that he would be carried off the field by the team if he scored a goal today, Ethan Hahn stepped up after a corner kick was sent out of the box and sent a moon shot, 60 yards in the air, from the 40 yard line towards goal. His hopes and prayers were answered as the goalie miss played the ball and it somehow found its way to the back of the net. A few minutes later Connor Berry found his way into the box in perfect position to hit a one time shot into the goal to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead. Clayton came back and scored a moonshot goal of their own to knot the game back up at 2. With a few minutes left Thomas Mosley found Timmy Chumley on a throw in deep in the box. Timmy had a great first touch, turned and fired it into the goal to give the Huskies a 3-2 lead. The boys held on tight and earned the victory over Clayton. Ethan got his “Rudy” moment and was carried off the field by the team at the end. The JV Huskies finished the season 8-7. Way to go guys. We are very proud of you.
